For an undergraduate course called 'The English speaking world' learners (in groups of 4) made a 10 minute educational video and prepared a series of study questions that were to be answered by the peers after viewing the video. The videos were made using iMovie (on a Mac) or Photostory 3 (on a PC) and were charged with learning to use the software using the tutorial from the makes of these intuitive programs. Learners can easily and intuitively produce classy looking video.
The completed videos were uploaded onto youtube, and then embedded into the learning platform as too were the study questions. In class, each group presented their video and then lead others learners in the follow up discussion, based on their own study questions (see below). Students signed a permission form enabling usage of the video in future courses.
